Testimonials

Things that people have said about our Pilates and Tai Chi personal sessions and classes.

"I have thouroughly enjoyed the course and would love to continue. Brian is an excellent, patient and peaceful teacher"

Sharon on T'ai Chi

"I look forward to each and every session with Robyn. Each one is different, challenging and fun. An added bonus is that when I look in the mirror my stomach continues to get flatter and flattter. "

Gill on Private Pilates Sessions

"From time to time I have sciatica. Robyn has such an incredible understanding of how bodies work that she customises each session, not only to the individual person, but even to how I am feeling on the day. "

Julian on Private Pilates Sessions

"As someone with a spinal injury, I found it difficult to exercise and over the 10 years since my injury I really got out of condition. I have been working with Robyn for two years now and the difference in my physical appearance and wellbeing is incredible - and a source of constant comment. Pilates has made a huge difference to me and Robyn's teaching, tailored to suit my needs, has been fantastic. I now swim twice a week and try to do at least a couple of pilates sessions on my own. A session with Robyn once a fortnight really keeps me focused and moving forward to better practice. I look, feel and really am, a great deal healthier."

Jonica on Private Pilates Sessions

"When I started in January I needed two sticks when going for walks. Now in May I don't need them at all."

Jill on T'ai Chi

"Being a bodyworker myself I demand a high standard of the classes I attend, but this one took me by surprise: It is by far the most complete and unique dance class I've come across in my life!

On the physical level it lured me into pushing myself a little further each time, so that only after a few weeks of attending I felt an increase of stamina and loss of chubbyness. And this just happened while having fun dancing!

The other huge pulling factor was the creativity of Brian's class. It is a delight to be able to express myself in such a beautiful and liberating way - and it comes so easy in this priceless class.

The main uniqueness though draws directly from Brian's in depth knowledge of TaiChi, Pilates and Yoga, which immensely enriches every lesson. At last I believe a class is as good as the teacher is - and this one is as deep and rich as an ocean. Enjoy!"

Sarang on DanceFusion

All I know is that your class opened my heart again - to dance, to liking and accepting my body again and starting to connect with and trust others. So thank you. I am on a journey I may not have started if I hadn't met you or Robyn.

AW about Brian and DanceFusion

I have always hated exercise programmes. Poor personal co-ordination and a bullying gym-mistress forty years ago saw to that. So discovering Pilates – and Robyn – was a huge revelation and, two years on, I not only look forward to my regular sessions with her but also work on my own at home. For me, the mental aspects are at least as important as the physical and Robyn interprets these beautifully. I feel better in so many ways – and those 3cm off the waist are just pure bonus.

Val on Private Pilates Sessions

"I have known Brian for about five years. I met him when I attended his T’ai Chi class in Teddington. I continued the classes for two years. Then as a result of a rare neuro virus, I developed left sided weakness, rather like a stroke. Doctors and conventional physiotherapists held little hope of a recovery. However, I was just 32 years old with a vision of trekking in the Andes. Brian was the only bodyworker willing to take on the challenge and with a personalised progressive programme 18 months later I am able to walk for up to one hour.

Brian’s optimism and encouragement have been unwavering. I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today without his support and hard work.

The background of T’ai Chi lessons had given me a basis that Brian worked on. Brian has proved to be a great support in a rehabilitation situation as well as the balancing harmony of T’ai Chi movement and philosophy."

“When our otherwise bouncy 11-year-old son, Simon, took to his bed with intense abdominal pain and a temperature and remained there for 3 months, we were at our wits end. The approach from doctors was woolly and slow, and we had a variety of conflicting professional opinions ranging from undiagnosed organic to psychological.

I’d worked with Brian in the past, and I knew that he was ideally suited to work with Simon, to help him to move more easily and get some energy back, and to attempt to unlock what had become a pattern of behaviour. This he did, meeting up with Simon regularly at home. He worked not only on movement but posture and breathing, and his immense enthusiasm and quiet understanding also helped lift Simon out of what was becoming isolation and despondency. With a holistic approach he managed to tackle the problem on both fronts.”

“Ben aged 13 developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), following glandular fever, which had not initially been diagnosed. Being hugely sporty and very academic, to be off school, feeling utterly wiped out and ill with almost permanent headaches, nausea, muscle pains and trouble sleeping was devastating. A couple of months into the illness Brian and Ben started meeting weekly and Brian devised a personal programme of T’ai Chi exercises and relaxation techniques which proved hugely beneficial. Ben did these on his own each evening before bed.

It soon became more than just an exercise programme. Brian's thorough knowledge of physiology, his innate understanding of what triggered Ben’s post viral response and his very focussed and intuitive approach meant that work done with Ben not only aided his recovery, but has given him the tools to temper his approach to work and sport.

Despite being fully back to school and some sport, Ben chooses to continue on his own with the exercises/regime, meeting up with Brian just once a month.”

"I have been attending Robyn Stuart's Pilates classes since she began [here in Teddington] four years ago. Pilates has made an amazing difference to my life, in that I am much stronger and more flexible in my late fifties than I was before I started. Robyn's classes are both relaxing and energising and she is an inspirational teacher who tailors the exercises to the needs of each individual. We are a happy group who really look forward to our weekly sessions."

Angela, Teddington on Pilates Classes

"Having been recommended to do Pilates by a physiotherapist following a back problem I now have even more strength and flexibility than I ever had in my youth – I’m still not that old though !!!!! I would recommend Robyn’s Pilates class to anyone."
